Were any of you glued to your laptop during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia? My instagram timeline was flooded with behind the scenes shots of models, sets, designers, street style providing all that juicy fashion inspiration that we can't ever get enough of. It's ironic that I seem to follow fashion week in Oz more closely now that I'm six thousand kilometres away than I did when I lived there. Alex Perry, however, was one of my very first favourite designers, when a school uniform still composed most of my wardrobe.
He was the first Australian Designer to spark my love for the glamorous high-waisted silhouettes that I still find myself drooling over today. His collection at the MBFWA was one of my favourites despite the ridiculously high, centred slits that revealed a little too much. (Why must slits get higher and higher?) The majority of his collection however, showed a less ribald side and showcased a fine array of organza, lace and racerback cuts.
