Christmas break was spent for us overseas in the mother land, Australia - more specifically, Melbourne. It's a great central base if you want to spend a week or so road-tripping out in a sort of web manner. Our first excursion was to the Grampians (and believe me, it was a difficult process to narrow it down to one). Each time I travel I spend many an hour researching the city and the surrounding areas - it can be surprisingly affordable to rent a car, split between 3 or 4 people, pack a picnic lunch and venture a few hours out for the day. I had seen photos of McKenzie Falls prior to visiting, but it was when I arrived that I really gained an appreciation for it's beauty - rainbows in the falling water and the tiny droplets that hit your skin on the way down. Swimming isn't allowed but of course, there were a few who dared to. Instead, I stuck to the rocks, dipping my toes in after a long hike up to Pinnacle (more on that soon) and enjoying my new Alice Mccall number.
