Why is it that even though the festive season starts more than a full month earlier in the Philippines, it has no direct, positive effect on my planning capabilities. WHY. After four years of Christmases, you think I would have moved faster and not leave it to the last minute. I blame it on the ingenuity of online shopping companies and their 'shop today, wear tomorrow' mentality. What seems to have added this beautiful problem is the rise of these shopping sites selling luxury pre-loved items. As a long time lover of thrift and vintage stores (the pay-by-weight stores get me especially giddy) sites such as Reebonz have particularly taken my fancy. Two words. Accessible luxury. Chanel earrings worn once? Prada bags perhaps? All within digital-reach-soon-to-be-physical-reach in a matter of days. And so it seems I have developed the shopping mentality that there is no need to actually leave the home in order to shop for loved ones and instead as usual on December 24th I will be madly scrambling to wrap 50 gifts only to find I am desperately short of wrapping paper. Anyway, enough of that, I swear I saw a lilac Celine box bag on sale somewhere online...
